About UK Carbon Verification.
UK Carbon Verification (UKCV) provides independent third-party carbon verification and assurance for organisations whose carbon data is externally reported, commercially relied upon or open to scrutiny.
We support organisations that need third-party verification of their carbon footprint, independent assurance of carbon data, aligned to ISO 14064-3 principles.
Our role is to help organisations demonstrate confidence in carbon data that is shared with customers, procurement teams, investors, boards and other stakeholders.
Why we exist
Carbon data is no longer used only for internal sustainability reporting.
It is increasingly used in procurement processes, customer due diligence, supply chain reporting, investor discussions, sustainability disclosures and wider commercial decision-making.
That changes the nature of the conversation. The question is no longer only: “Have we measured our emissions?” It increasingly becomes: “How confidently can we stand behind the data?”
UK Carbon Verification was established to support organisations at this stage of reporting maturity.

Led by commercial and sector experience
Today, UK Carbon Verification combines direct senior oversight with access to experienced verification professionals, enabling a proportionate and scalable approach whilst maintaining a clear focus on quality, consistency and independence.
This model allows UKCV to work with organisations ranging from growing businesses through to larger and more complex reporting environments, whilst ensuring every engagement benefits from experienced leadership and independent review.

Prior to founding UK Carbon Verification, Matt Letley served as Commercial Director at Planet Mark and has worked with organisations across carbon reporting, sustainability certification and responsible business programmes.
Having spent years supporting businesses measuring and reporting carbon emissions, Matt recognised the growing need for independent verification as carbon data becomes increasingly relied upon by customers, investors, procurement teams and other stakeholders.
He established UK Carbon Verification to provide specialist independent verification and assurance for organisations seeking confidence in externally reported carbon data.
A specialist verification-only business
UK Carbon Verification focuses exclusively on verification and assurance.
We do not provide carbon footprint measurement, carbon consultancy, target setting, reduction planning or offsetting services.
This means we can work alongside organisations, carbon measurement platforms, consultants and internal sustainability teams as an independent assurance partner.
Our approach is designed to complement existing reporting processes, not replace them.

UKCV’s approach is aligned to ISO 14064-3 principles for greenhouse gas verification, with methodologies and procedures developed with UKAS accreditation requirements in mind. Trust in assurance depends on professional integrity, objectivity and competence.
UK Carbon Verification is committed to maintaining high standards of professional conduct, evidence-based decision-making and independent review.
As an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP), we support the principles of professional competence, ethical conduct, transparency and objectivity set out within the ISEP Code of Professional Conduct.
UK Carbon Verification is also a member of the Carbon Accounting Alliance, supporting consistency, transparency and continual improvement across the carbon accounting profession.
